Most of these images are taken  around my little home on BC's beautiful Quadra Island – nestled between Vancouver Island and British Columbia's mainland.

Facing East toward the Desolation Sound mountains is where I see the sun come up. Depending on weather and cloud cover, the sunrises can be über spectacular. Some of the best are when the clouds covering these mountains start to drift apart because that's when intense light squeezes through . If the waters are calm and smooth like glass, those colourful lights love to bounce  around – it's breathtaking and usually lasts only a few precious moments.

The break of day is also when the coast comes alive. I swear, the eagles, seagulls and ravens all celebrate the mornings – while the otters and seals are busy catching fish or outrunning our local Orca Killer Whales.
